If you add a page in the unlinked section, then it won't be accessible unless you hand out the URL.
That let's you kind of brainstorm and share with friends before you go live with it. It also means you can create a page just for a certain client or whatever. You can even add a password and such in the settings.
It's a good way to try new things out.
